HOW TO TEACH YOUR KIDS ABOUT ORGANIZATION

Kids are super cute but they are usually mischievous mess-makers. So the earlier you start teaching them the value of organization, the more it will help them to succeed not only at school but everywhere else too.

Designate a definite place and time of study. It should be a quiet place with least distractions. Encourage him or her to decide which assignments are priority. Sit with them to review the homework, things needed for school the next day or any special project work. You can install a pegboard near the study table to help organize papers, notes, art work, craft supplies etc. neatly.

3Use folders and files to sort and organize notes, assignments, completed work or work to do, separately. Make sure your child tries to do it himself gradually. Color code or label folders for ease if required.

While choosing a school bag or locker or closet organizer to store all school supplies, make sure it has enough compartments to arrange different things easily. This is where toddlers start figuring out what fits in where and why they should separately stack things like books, notes, stationery, lunchbox etc.

Pack-a-lock

Teaching kids to clean up after play time or store their dirty laundry neatly is a cool way to teach them organization and also keeps the nursery clutter free. Will help you to breathe easy too! Use our incredibly cute toy organizers, storage sacks and multipurpose laundry bags to control playroom mess. The double flap organizers will help them separately store their toys, games, books, clothes and much more! http://tinyurl.com/uberlyfe-animalstorage

Use labels for bins if that makes finding stuff easier. Like for instance “Everyday toys”, “Favorite Toys”, “Old Toys”. Keep the bins for old toys or clothes higher up on the shelf and the more frequently used ones on the lower shelves so that kids are able to reach them easily. Teach them to donate toys he no longer plays with…he will learn to care for others 🙂

Get a funky, vibrant calendar for your little one’s room. Let them inculcate the habit of jotting down reminders like- things to do, household chores to help with or maybe something they need for school, exam dates, assignment submission dates and so on. Or encourage them to create check lists.

When you go shopping, involve your kids while planning what things to get, which route to take. Even when you are planning a vacation, let them decide what clothes, games or essential items they want to take along.

You can go for a combination of different shades of blue and white while choosing the bedding, blankets or cushions…it will enhance the general feel of the room. Kids will specially love the ones with “cool” motifs on them like igloos, penguins, polar bears or snow. Digital prints on plain sheets or covers are also another option. If the color of the curtains and furniture follow the same rule, like maybe white bed or dresser and pale blue curtains…it will be amazing.

BEAUTIFUL CEILINGS…

When it comes to home decor, it’s interesting how we don’t usually pay a lot of attention to make the ceiling look special or unique. It’s probably because we don’t “look up” all the time except when we lie down! But here are some images to show you how, using some funky or artistic decals on the ceiling can change the aura of a room completely…after all they are the easiest way to transform the look of a place instantly!

So see how you can beautify your bedroom, living room, nursery and even your kitchen? Specially for babies, using bright bold decals on the ceiling is a good idea to stimulate their senses since they spend so much of their time lying on their backs. For other rooms you can go for simple, sober motifs to get a mellow yet gorgeous feel…but remember ultimately, it’s always your choice and whatever you desire! So never hesitate from choosing something that will make “you” feel happy 🙂 Photo credit: Houzz

THE JOY OF LEARNING…

Making the process of learning, fun for kids is an art! How many times have you faced the concern that your little chipmunk does everything but study? Maybe he finds it boring or not stimulating enough…maybe he needs some creative, more interactive way to enjoy the fruit of knowledge 🙂

Now we know that there is a whole range of products in the market which are dedicated to appeal to the inquisitiveness of kids. But we think there is particularly one which provides a constant motivation to learn even for a baby! Alphabet wall decals…easy to apply on the nursery wall maybe near the crib, these are bound to make your little one curious.

DESIGNING A NURSERY ON A BUDGET? DON’T WORRY!

Designing a dream nursery for your baby is a wonderful adventure and you should be able to enjoy it! Don’t let the stress of financial planning overwhelm it…we have some tips on how you can decide on what to buy, the decor and what is important:

  • Wall décor – using decals is a great but inexpensive way to brighten up dull, blank walls. They are easy to apply, removable, leave no sticky residue and can be re-positioned easily. So you can keep changing the designs as your tiny tot grows up, keeping pace with his choice and interests. Bold, bright colors and simple, well defined motifs help in nurturing the power of recognition and imagination in a baby. See more: http://tinyurl.com/kzeqlye ; http://tinyurl.com/lk8qm7a

  • Multifunctional furniture – choose pieces which can be used for different purposes. For example, a dresser which can be used as a changing table or a crib that can later on be converted into a bed! A rocking chair is perfect for nursing and you won’t have to get rid of it in future. Such furniture is good investment…

  • Storage – Simple shelves or cubbies will not burn a hole in your pocket. Abundant use of colorful bins can keep the clutter at bay and store toys, books, clothes and more! They are excellent for teaching kids, how to organize stuff, use space wisely and improve his cognitive skills. See more: http://tinyurl.com/qjyvg7e

  • Gifts and Hand me downs – many parents have a lot of stuff that their baby has outgrown and they will be more than happy to give it to you. Say yes to such items if they are in good condition. Will save you a lot of unnecessary expense.
  • Stick to the budget planned – no matter how much you love those cute little clothes or toys, resist the urge to splurge! Most of these things, your baby won’t need after some time. Buy what you really need.
  • Do it yourself – there are many fun projects which you can try and unleash your creativity. Try your hand at sewing, painting, making craft items and see how unique they look!
  • Be safe – this should be the prime concern while planning the nursery. Any furniture or decor that you choose should not pose any health hazard to the apple of your eye.

So, plan wisely, follow simple tricks and cherish this amazing phase of your life 🙂
