HOW TO TEACH YOUR KIDS ABOUT ORGANIZATION

Kids are super cute but they are usually mischievous mess-makers. So the earlier you start teaching them the value of organization, the more it will help them to succeed not only at school but everywhere else too.

ghk 1

babbleStart with every day habits or routine like packing lunch box or school bag, getting dressed or even brushing teeth before going to bed. This will encourage them to remember and learn to do the essential things regularly.

ghk

Designate a definite place and time of study. It should be a quiet place with least distractions. Encourage him or her to decide which assignments are priority. Sit with them to review the homework, things needed for school the next day or any special project work. You can install a pegboard near the study table to help organize papers, notes, art work, craft supplies etc. neatly.

3Use folders and files to sort and organize notes, assignments, completed work or work to do, separately. Make sure your child tries to do it himself gradually. Color code or label folders for ease if required.

While choosing a school bag or locker or closet organizer to store all school supplies, make sure it has enough compartments to arrange different things easily. This is where toddlers start figuring out what fits in where and why they should separately stack things like books, notes, stationery, lunchbox etc.

Pack-a-lock

Teaching kids to clean up after play time or store their dirty laundry neatly is a cool way to teach them organization and also keeps the nursery clutter free. Will help you to breathe easy too! Use our incredibly cute toy organizers, storage sacks and multipurpose laundry bags to control playroom mess. The double flap organizers will help them separately store their toys, games, books, clothes and much more! http://tinyurl.com/uberlyfe-animalstorage

Use labels for bins if that makes finding stuff easier. Like for instance “Everyday toys”, “Favorite Toys”, “Old Toys”. Keep the bins for old toys or clothes higher up on the shelf and the more frequently used ones on the lower shelves so that kids are able to reach them easily. Teach them to donate toys he no longer plays with…he will learn to care for others 🙂

happyorganized life Use our colorful drawer dividers to arrange your children’s inner wear, delicate items or accessories. Motivate them to do the arranging themselves. You can also paint an old dresser with chalkboard paint and label each drawer for different items! http://tinyurl.com/uberlyfe-closetdivider

Get a funky, vibrant calendar for your little one’s room. Let them inculcate the habit of jotting down reminders like- things to do, household chores to help with or maybe something they need for school, exam dates, assignment submission dates and so on. Or encourage them to create check lists.

When you go shopping, involve your kids while planning what things to get, which route to take. Even when you are planning a vacation, let them decide what clothes, games or essential items they want to take along.

SMART BATHROOM STORAGE IDEAS

When we think about home storage or organization, we usually consider all the rooms but often miss out on the bathroom. But your bathroom has immense potential to store a lot of stuff and look pretty at the same time! Whether it is tiny or huge, there is always a way to make the most of the space.

If you are blessed with a roomy bathroom, then a simple open shelf can carry a lot of things like towels, clothes, bath accessories and even a pretty bunch of flowers or an indoor plant for a homely touch! A wall cabinet will work well too.

1

A simple wooden shelf with pull out bins is great when you don’t want everyone to see every single thing. Looks clean too. Labeling the bins is another clever idea to always know where to find what!

3

A wall cabinet combined with a mirror is very useful. Just remember, the inside of the cabinet door can house a lot of small items. Or you can fix a wooden plank near the mirror and this can support things like toothbrush, toothpaste, cosmetics, shaving materials, medicines and more!

7

The space below the sink is ideal for storage and you can make it look good too! Check out these images to get ideas.

8

Colorful, bright wall brackets can add a dash of spunk to the bathroom, besides storage. They save floor area too. Or you can put up some rods on the wall and hang a couple of quaint baskets for the same purpose.

53

If you have a stepladder at home, use it to hang towels, robes or anything else you need!

76

Never underestimate the space surrounding the bathtub. A clever mechanism as shown below can help you keep all the soaps, shampoo bottles, shower gels, scrubs, lotions near at hand while you are enjoying your bath! Simple shelves or cabinets just above the tub will help too.

19

If you are really short on space, simply hang stuff! Get any simple organizer which you can fix in a corner or for a unique look, hang some wicker baskets with ropes…

2

Finally, don’t overlook the bathroom door. Hanging a shoe organizer on the backside of the door will banish the need for a cabinet! And a plain shelf above the door can be used to keep things like floor cleaners, detergents or extra towels which you don’t require everyday.

24

So go ahead and revamp that part of your home, which rejuvenates you every morning 🙂
