8 TIPS TO ORGANIZE YOUR CLOSET IN SUMMER

8 TIPS TO ORGANIZE YOUR CLOSET IN SUMMER

It is the season to bring out all your bright, airy dresses and keep away those heavy winter clothes! Here are a few tips to get your closet ready to enjoy the sun, blooming nature and at times a bit of rain!

24-7 style

1. Store your winter clothes – store your sweaters, blazers, shawls…after getting them cleaned. Fold and arrange them neatly inside spacious organizers which can be tucked away in the attic, loft or under the bed. This way, they won’t take up space inside your closet. 2. Get rid of clothes that you no longer wear – no matter how trendy an outfit, if you haven’t worn it in over a year, it’s time to give it away or donate to a charity. For expensive clothes, you can either try to sell it online or to a second hand shop. Also if a piece of clothing is smelly, has stubborn old stains, itches or doesn’t fit, it is time to consider losing them. We know it’s difficult, but still!

6. Summer accessories – Now is the time to show off those funky fashion jewelry, cool sunglasses, or that hot bikini you have been dying to wear. Use drawer organizers to keep even the smallest things, neatly and within easy reach. See: http://tinyurl.com/uberlyfe-drawer-organizer

7. Summer shoes and bags – shoes like sandals and flip flops are usually light, fun and are in bright, fun colors! They won’t take up much space inside your closet. Or use the closet doors to hang them up. Same goes for bags too and use big bags to hold the smaller ones.

8. One last thing – Try and sort stuff in your closet according to color or type, whichever suits your need. So put shirts together, frocks together, a separate section for pants or long dresses and so on. This will make finding things easy!

HOW TO DE-CLUTTER YOUR BEDROOM…

Your bedroom is a place where you relax, unwind, and let your hair down. So it goes without saying that a clean and tidy room will always look more inviting than a shabby one, when you come home exhausted after a tiring day! This is exactly the reason why it’s crucial to control chaos in the bedroom and get organized…here are some great tips:

The traditional closet is always the first resort for most of us. A bit of clever designing can create adequate space…racks for hanging clothes, place for keeping folded items, closed cabinets, drawers for more delicate things, open shelves to hold bins which can house all the little odds and ends…

A very ingenious way to create more space to contain clutter is having a headboard which is also a wall unit! This trick uses more of the vertical space and does not encroach on the precious floor area. You can store anything you want here or even display some artifacts. Use pretty storage boxes if you don’t want everyone to walk in on your stuff 🙂

Under the bed storage is another great idea to utilize limited legroom.  If your bed comes with drawers, great! If not, don’t worry…using some sober, coordinated bins can rise to the occasion very well. Use lidded ones to keep dust at bay and this way, you can store all your bedspreads, woolens or summer clothes without stuffing your wardrobe.

The simple bedside table has potential too…if it’s like a simple shelf or cubby, you can place the night lamp on the top and line up some bins underneath, just like a multifunctional piece of furniture!

The same goes for a window seat or bench with some space below. Just a couple of matching chic bins or baskets will hide mess and be visually pleasing at the same time…
